2X Sort looses settings

I do a daily cold boot.
About once a week, the View/Sort By menu settings are lost.

I normally sort by Type, Ascending.

During a day, the setting changes, no type, and descending. When I change it back, it stays for awhile.

What causes this and how to fix it?

never heard this one before
you must be inadvertently pressing the shortcuts that toggle sorting mode, eg Ctrl+Alt+T

Sorry, that's not it.

I never use keyboard shortcuts. The only one I ever use is C/A/D to bring up windows Task Manager. I've done that and no change in 2X, normal.

I notice the "resort" after I have exited 2X, do other things, then open 2X.

Should mention, this happens only in one of the panes, center or right, not both at the same time.
