3.2 MiniScrap Folder Problem

Post by bkradio »

I just upgraded my X2 pro to 3.2 and when I start it I get a message "Error reading and/or corrupt contents file" and the MiniScrap does not load. But I can load it manually with no problem. So it appears the file is OK.

Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks

so let me get this straight, you put something in your miniscrap, quit/restart xplorer2, and it is gone? It works for me

does the CIDA file exist where you save it or it isn't created at all?

It's created.
But at the next start, error of reading.
But if I do a 'load contents', it's OK. Until the next start.

can you email to me this funny CIDA file and also a snapshot of your xplorer2 window how it looks when the miniscrap is fully loaded? Also using TOOLS > ADVANCED OPTIONS menu command are the miniscrap settings to default values? (out of the 6 checkboxes, the first 2 clear, the remaining 4 ticked)

the CIDA is not funny.
Tried with just one item c:\windows.
Save the cida file. Save the configuration. exit. restart.
Nothing.
I load the same cida, OK. I can see the windows link. I close/open. Nothing.

This all working with 3.1. After the update to 3.2 and the first start, the miniscrap was empty.

Forgot to say. The advanced settings are OK.

Same problem. But when I look at the "Recent File" dropdown it shows "empty". Seems like X2 is not remembering the last location. Mine is D:\My Documents\X2 Backup Settings\MiniScrap Folders.cida.

Works find when I manually load it.

this is a big mystery because it works for (most) people and I can't think of anything i've changed that can affect it. Can somebody email me the INI file you are using for your settings?

I have the same issue. CIDA saved to "Documents" - loads via "Load Contents" menu, fails with "Error reading and/or corrupt contents file" on startup.
