I have a huge library of 3D objects in formats like OBJ, FBX, etc. I would love to be able to browse them with thumbnails to make it easier to find what I want. I know of a 32 bit Total Commander plugin that'll do exactly what I want - but I'm running Xplorer2 Ultimate x64.
I've found TC plugins that'll thumbnail Solidworks files, 3DS Max files, and Rhino 3D files, but nothing for OBJ or FBX.
Anyone know of anything?
Thanks,
Paul

xplorer2 can use TC plugins for preview (not thumbnails at present), see here www.zabkat.com/blog/tc-plugins.htm
but if the plugin is 32 bit you need to install the 32 bit xplorer2
another option is to google for "XXX thumbnail handler for windows explorer" and see if you find anything. You can also ask the support of whoever publishes these 3D formats

Re: Anyone know of a 3D object thumbnailer?
I wound up buying an app called 3DBrowser Lite. It's basically a file browser that also can preview a bunch of 3D files. The nice thing is, it also hooks in to Explorer & automatically generates thumbnails - so in Xplorer2 you get them as well.
It also will thumbnail a bunch of image formats, but I was really mainly interested in the 3D stuff.
The Lite version was under $20, so it was easier to just buy it than spend my time trying to find something that may or may not work.
Here's a link to their site in case anyone else needs this kind of functionality: http://www.mootools.com/plugins/us/
Thanks!
