I have about 4000 pictures that my dad has been tagging. He's getting up there in age and some physical ailments make it hard for him to type or move the mouse, and so during tagging he made some mistakes. I've been searching the web, high and low, for a program that can find a keyword across multiple files and replace it with another word. For example, we used the word "unknown" for some of the people in the pictures. However, looking at the categories view in MP I can see that Unknown was spelled "Unkown" in some cases, and there are multiple instances of " Unknown" and "Unknown " (spaces before and after the word) as well as other words that were misspelled. Can Xnview find and replace keywords? Can anything find and replace keywords, besides adobe lightroom (unless I'm way off in my google search which was 'find replace keywords OR tags OR metadata photo OR photograph OR picture OR image', lightroom was the only program that seemed to have that capability)? Thanks.

Find and Replace IPTC tags or keywords
I posted what's below over on the xnview forums and got squat. I'm finding it VERY hard to believe that there is no easy way to find and replace keywords in photos. So, before I sit down with autohotkey and figure out how to re-invent the wheel, is there any way to find/replace data in the "keywords" column in x2? I can get all my tags to show up in this column and am hoping there is a way I can edit that data. Or, maybe someone here has a good alternative idea (besides buying adobe lightroom--the only program I could find that does what I need).

Re: Find and Replace IPTC tags or keywords
xplorer2 will find any keyword you like, but as for replacing it doesn't look very well. You can manually edit the keyword field (see version 3.2) but that won't be a solution if you have too many files to work with.
if you were dealing with file comments, then Alt+Z command in xplorer2 could be more helpful. Still no search and replace but it could allow you to remove and add individual "keywords"

"Reverse-Geocoding"... hmm... that's a disturbing term if ever t'was...
Once upon a time, to live off-the-grid, all the self-respecting misanthropic hermit (or retired head of a benign criminal organisation) had to do was unplug himself, learn to make gourmet dinners from the local farmer's market, find a nice unsuspecting unsophisticated country girl and settle-down... and never ever buy anything from Amazon again.
These days any bloody geek with a cell-phone camera can unravel the best laid plans of mice and men! The more I see of it, I don't think I like this brave new world the century portends.

(The more I think of it, how much you care to bet that reverse-geocoding was actually invented by a particularly ravenous ex-wife who really wanted her alimony? Madness.)

The Psychos In Power sure seem determined to force the Serf's er, Citizens, to do everything on their mobiles, no need for CCTV as everything's on the phone, and then some. I'm dusting off the jungle drums..
