History Navigation Chain number of items

Is it possible to have a History Navigation Chain with more than 10 items in it?

I think the navigation list has more than 10 items internally, but shows only the nearest 10 when you pop the menu (right click on the pane's titlebar)

you can also use the drop-down portion of the addressbar for older browsing history
