build 6.001 released

Post by nikos »

* French and German translations are back online and available for installation. The only big language missing is Russian, any volunteers for the update?

* When you move xplorer² (or editor²) to another DPI monitor it makes sure the window fits vertically or resizes itself appropriately.

* If you use Everything for search, you can install Kilmatead's SizeES WDX plugin for fast folder size calculations straight into the SIZE column. This allows folder size calculations at root level too! For details see http://zabkat.com/blog/folder-size-revisited.htm

* Installer has a help link in "choose additional tasks" page, which takes you to the online manual for clarifications.

Gee, thanks for the head's up on releasing this, Kimosabe, I got up this morning expecting to have a leisurely lie-in with my trusty Oompa-Loompas bringing me coffee and croissant au chocolat surveying my empire of code, but instead I'm editing posts and quickly repackaging binaries. Life was much simpler on that desert island... Coconuts, island girls, crab cakes...

This modern world of yours is always in such a hurry. Slow down with faster foldersizes! :D (Thanks for doing this, it makes my world a little brighter.)

The "box" lower part (at the end of the crumb bar) is missing.
It goes OK once you click on it.

but a GUI bug - and a rather obvious one - you haven't fixed.

Nikos,
i used to love xplorer2 and it was my main File Manager, and only used it.
but frankly, other file manager Developers solve their users issues; when it is related to the software.
when i had an issue with the recycle bin, u told me "blue moon".
when some of us asked for the ESC option/feature for the filter bar, u didn't care and gave ur opinion/excuse.

for u it might seem not important, but for some of us it is a problem.
updates / upgrade should improve the software, but in xplorer2 case it is not.

i was planning to purchase the new v6 license, hoping that v6 would have solved my issues with the app; but it did not.

Anyways it is Your App, Let's Hope u listen to your users requests/suggestions.
Regards.

recycle bin is 10 times faster to read with a small glitch that you need to refresh it manually
for most people this is progress, not retrograde

Seeing as I have a captive audience, a story about a famous person.

Jamie Oliver (UK chef) was holidaying in Greece, The Greek chef of a Island restaurant asked Jamie if he would honour his kitchen by cooking a dinner for his patrons, Jamie agreed, he vlog'd the purchasing of the ingredients, prep, etc. Dinner time and patrons were served, Jamie did a table tour asking some patrons whether they liked the meal, most said it was nice. The Greek chef then asked his patrons to write down on a napkin their opinion of the meal and to give the napkins to the waiter.
The Greek chef and Jamie went through the replies, there were a few negative comments but Jamie was happy because most of the comments were positive, The Greek chef than asked Jamie how would he improve his dish, Jamie said, why, most people liked it, Greek chef said, how are you going to improve your skills if you don't LISTEN to the negative comments, Jamie went and asked each negative commenter what they disliked and he was astounded at the reasons that they didn't like his meal.

Jamie's whole demeanour changed when he realised that there were good reasons why they didn't like his dish.

yes true story and its on utube.

Now, how do I bring this on topic *retires to hammock with something cold*.
