I installed the most recent version of xplorer2. As in earlier versions, I set the view for Dual pane, Tile horizontally.
I'm encountering an issue that I never came across in earlier versions. I don't know if this is a new feature, or just something that's always been there without my knowing, but that I now accidentally enabled.
When I open a folder in the left side pane, a third pane opens to the left of it. That third pane is open to the parent folder of the one that I have open. I can't figure out how to close it without restarting xplorer2. Nor can I find any setting to disable it.
Can anyone tell me how to disable that third pane? Also, if I don't disable it, how can I close it without restarting xplorer2?
Thanks.

Re: How to disable unwanted third pane
I’ve never heard of a Miller column, and Alt + Insert doesn’t work. However, your message prompted me to remember that when I first installed the current version of xplorer2, a “Miller” button appeared on the toolbar. Clicking on it didn’t appear to do anything, so I removed it when I removed a bunch of other buttons in order to reduce clutter.
(I use xplorer2 for the dual panes, and little else, so spending a lot of time figuring out pages and pages of features isn’t something I’ve ever been interested in. I do know that if I had ever come across that Wikipedia article on Miller columns, I still would have gotten rid of the button.)
I’m now guessing that clicking on the “Miller” button to see if it did anything activated the 3 column deal, and then removing it from the toolbar disabled any direct possibility of getting the third pane out of my life. Because...
Just now I put the button back on the toolbar and clicked on it. That removed the third pane. I then removed the button again, and the third pane hasn’t come back.
For whatever it’s worth, I looked at the older version of xplorer2, which I still have on my laptop. I see that the toolbar on that one also had a Miller button that I removed in the past. I’ve been using xplorer2 as long as I can remember, and for all I know all earlier versions had it, but either I never clicked on it before removing it, or I clicked on it however many times (an even number, turning it on, but then back off?) that it stayed off, thus never activating the extra pane before.
Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks for your help.

Re: How to disable unwanted third pane
in the past ALT+INS key used to work for miller columns, but many people hit it by accident, so I removed the shortcut
you can turn it on/off from FILE > COLUMN MODE menu command
