Deskrule v2.83 with proximity search

Post by nikos »

important Deskrule update that brings NEAR keyword matching in text contents
at present it is only supported for documents in the search index
https://www.zabkat.com/deskrule/index.htm

please try out out and let me know if it works right!
thanks
You can find keywords in file text contents that are NEAR each other using this special format (NEAR operator must be in uppercase)

this NEAR "that thing"

So whereas plain multiple keyword search allows the keywords to be anywhere in the file, proximity search only finds keywords close to each other (up to 50 words apart), for better context matching. NEAR keyword matching is only availabe for documents in WDS search index (and in Deskrule's offline catalog).

Unfortunately for plain text searches (not indexed), NEAR is considered as another search keyword without special meaning, therefore it should be avoided.

now v2.90 is out which can use proximity search for ALL documents, not only those indexed
