xplorer2 v6.105 released

Post by nikos »

Is this version jinxed or what? :)
yet another bugfix for google drive users, use HELP > CHECK FOR UDPATES menu command to get it
Some windows 11 users are hit by the latest windows update bug where file copy progress windows won't show for plain copy/paste or drag/drop. I have reported the problem to microsoft and can't do much more. If you suffer from this win11 bug I recommend using robust copy (F5 key) which is much better. Alternatively use TOOLS > ADVANCED OPTIONS menu and tick "Perform Edit > Paste robustly"; this way copy/paste will be performed using the xplorer² copy dialog (with the latest copy options). Sorry there's no workaround for drag-drop (it still works but without progress indication).

For technical details see here:

One of the more annoying phenomena of recent times is that I hear the word "jinxen" more and more often in German too, which is in the process of displacing a sad multitude of other terms. Young people should be banned from using words that are not in the dictionary.

But back to your question: depends on whether you've tested it carefully this time.

"each extra bit of adjustability doubles the number of tests necessary"
you brought this upon yourselves, ye tweak-hungry users :)

If I publicly updated something every time I messed with its code, the lonely widows of the badlands would come to believe I was thrice as prolific and not-a-half as productive as I could have any right to convince myself.

Considering that your changelogs have been somewhat anaemic of late (poor 6104 didn't even get one!), your ego would appear sufficiently insulated from the proverbial tooting of the horn.

New Words In the Oxford English Dictionary wrote:Caledonian Antisyzygy, n.: The term refers to the "idea of dueling polarities within one entity",[1] thought of as typical for the Scottish psyche and literature. The term, which is derived from the Greek word syzygy (conjunction or alignment), derived from zygon (yoke), specifically refers to the so-called "Scottish disjunction".
God only knows what (probably rather concatenated and even less pronounceable) words the Germanic youths are inventing these days. Is there some self-proclaimed authoritative Official German Dictionary Cabal of Snooty Coffee Drinkers somewhere in the bowels of Baden-Baden who announce these things?

Actually, it's Berlin. At least most of the youthful people I (personally) know don't talk like that.

If we didn't keep inventing new words we'd still be going "ugh-ugh" as our prehistoric ancestors did. Neither would there be jobs for people like my late half-brother, he was a lexicographer.

Since we seem to be returning to the cave paintings of our ancestors, now called ‘emojis’ (the paintings, not the ancestors), the difference would only be one of a few millennia.

The paintings in the caves of Lascaux are FAR superior to any emoji!!
I was fortunate enough to see them before they were closed to the public in 1963.
