problems downloading?

Post by nikos »

I just saw yet another fekap induced by microsoft, all of a sudden Edge (windows 10) will not trust xplorer2 (and co) downloads. It treats the installers like some dodgy keygens and recommends to be deleted because they are not "downloaded frequently"

can you try to download xplorer2 (and deskrule/declone) and see how it goes for you?
thanks

ps. my windows 11 also does it, looks like a smartscreen revolt!

can you guys do some forced downloading of the latest version (even if you don't need it) so that it builds up some reputation (opt to keep the download). Also click on "report this file as safe".
thanks

You know, me hoarding 16 copies of ult and 15 of pro in under two minutes is just going to make Edge think I'm a bot, not a boy. Does anyone actually use Edge? I tried it this morning and it seemed to have trouble recognising certificates of some vendors for no apparent reason. Maybe it's not right in its head today?

Aside: Curiously, the x2 menu item Help -> Online Support doesn't seem to do anything (default browser is Waterfox [i.e. Firefox variant]). I had to use check for updates to get to the site.

Edit: Oops, it actually opened 10 email message editors in Thunderbird... guess where? In the friggin' background of course. Guess it does do "something", just not what I was expectin'.

actually now downloads work... must have been a momentary foobar by smartscreen

the emailer inside xplorer2 can only work with "programs" not with your web-based email
