Hi there,

Is there any way to make xplorer² Lite remember the bookmarks I set. With 2×Explorer I have never had a problem, but with xplorer², I had to reset my bookmark from scratch every single time I opened it. :(

please make sure you have "save settings on exit" checked in Tools | Options

All I can find in the options is "Save program state on exit", and I did make sure to have it checked. But I have noticed that there is a general problem somewhere; I had checked "Allow slow double-clicks to rename items" in my Window options, and this got lost as well.

could it be that you have a crashed/hung xplorer2 instance running without a window? Please check your task manager

another thing you can try is Actions | Save settings now

Negative

I tried this and closed the program. It resulted in a application error message: (translating from French:)

The instruction to "0x77f73aed" employs the memory address "0x00000000". The memory cannot be written. Click OK to exit the program.

Looks like I'll start that bookmark list over again next time I use xplorer²...

could it be that you don't have enough rights/permissions to write to your HKCU hive in the registry? Do you have problems with apps remembering their settings on this particular machine where x2 is playing up?

It is my private home computer running XP home, and usually I have the administrator rights (never really defined them though).

No problems with other applications anyway.

hgerbig,
If by chance you are running the initial release v1.0.0.0, you might try try to download and install the latest: v1.0.0.1

Thanks a bunch, this was the problem indeed. I did not even have to redo the bookmarks, xplorer² found them upon startup. :D

I still don't know how this happened, though—I downloaded v1.0.0.0. yesterday from a server that I found through your site. Maybe check what's still sitting out there ...?

this does not make any sense at all...
but since it solved your problem, it's fine by me :)
