Nikos,
The history combo box does not operate the way it did in 2xExplorer. In 2xExplorer I was able to click the drop-down button and select one of the previous folders that I had visited. After clicking it, the active pane would go to that folder and display its contents.
In Xplorer2, when I click on one of the history folders, the edit box part of the combo box shows my selection, but it does not set the active pane.
Did I miss some configuration item?

I think that got traded off for the ability to edit the path in the addressbar before activating the destination.
So now we have to finish it off with [Enter], whether or nor we edit the list item.
I'm sure nikos had a reason for inhibiting filepane activation after click-to-select, but it adds a keystroke more often than it saves anything.
BTW, Did you notice the r-click drop-down history lists for each individual filepane pathbar? They operate as you would expect: pane is activated with click.

Please give back the single mouse click to go to the historical location.
Now I need to perform an extra keystroke that I did not with 2xExplorer. The less keystrokes and mouse clicks, the better.
This may seem trivial, but we all get get used to the easy or fast ways of performing a task and hate to go backwards.

Nikos,
You've done a wonderful job so far. Please try to find a way not to give up features.
If the WTL lib is giving you problems, maybe you'll have to roll your own with MFC.
I've been doing some Windows programs recently and MFC is extremely powerful. But it sure is difficult to learn considering documentation, including all the books you can buy, is poor at best.

this isn't a WTL issue, it just has to do with rebars
it's one of these "small" things that require way to much effort to bring back to their "original" form; it is debatable which option is better anyway. Yes now you require an extra "enter" but you gain the benefit of optionally adding/removing text before selecting the path

I've been using the X2 for over a month now and would really like to encourge changing the program in some manner so that I can use one click in the history list to go back to a folder that I previously visited.
I've tried living with the new approach in X2, but the problem is that I have to remove my hand from the mouse to hit the enter key and then go back to the mouse. That's extra motion that is somewhat annoying.
If making the change trades off too much functionality, then please consider a small "Go" button off to the right side. I can select the folder from the dropdown list and clisk "Go". The advantage is that at no time does my hand leave the mouse.

Mostly I use the individual pane recent history list (r-click on pane header) except when next wanted folder is more than 9-steps back or is from a prior session.
Then it's 80/20 (or even 90/10) for using history AS-IS without edit.
Although, for that 10-20% of the time, I really appreciate being able to edit the path before jumping -- & certainly MUST have the ability to edit command-line entries.
My point is that I agree with Ken Curtis that a Go button would be helpful for the majority of addressbar history navigation. ... or even a r-click menu GoTo option upon scrolling to the address of interest.
