Hi,
Is there any way to define which file types are previewed based on their type? I like the way I can preview images, text files etc, but I don't want to preview any video or music file I happen to click on.
If this isn't possible already could it be added.
A good option would be have an exlude list of certain file types, *.mp3, *.avi etc. This would turn off preview when the file is clicked on normally, but the user could still right click on the file and have the option of manually previewing. That would be good.
On the 'Window' tab of the 'Tools\Options...' dialog there are settings for the Quick Viewer.
One of these is a checkbox: 'Start playing media files immediately'.
Uncheck this box.
Windows Media Player will still load in the quick viewer, but won't start playing files of type .mp3, .wma, .avi etc. unless explicitly asked.

great!
but: it still "preview" PDFs
This is because PDF files only use standard ASCII characters and are therefore not HEX files.
ok... that is why it would be great to add sometimes an otion to preview only specified file types! (like in d/l manager - when you "say" which files to download)
Is there any way to chagne the viewer? I would like to switch it to WinAmp 5.x, as I go through great pains to not use microsoft - I use Mozilla, Litestep, and Xplorer2 to hide any trace of Microsoft from what I see. I know it is hypocritical in that I use MS for the OS, but I do not want to use them for ANY applications. They are the OS, nothing more. I only use them for that because all my games require MS to run and I do not want to emulate MS to run MS games on linux. I'd rather run the games natively. Unimportant, I know. The question is, can I change the plugin from media player to Winamp?
