Hi I am having a hard time with x2 for some reason it will not let me delete anything (file/folder). I get the message:
"Error deleting file or folder: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."
I am sure none of the files are in use or locked. In fact I can delete them from Windows Explorer no problem, it is only inside x2 where I cannot. This makes the program quite difficult to use.
I am using the registered 1.0.0.2 version. This also happens in the pre-release 1.0.0.3 version that was posted.
Cannot delete anything in x2 ???

Since you are able to delete items with Explorer, it might be locked by x2 itself. Some streaming audio/video files are locked by the QuickViewer; so you have to turn it off if you want to delete (or even rename) them.
All other types are not locked by the QV (including image files).
Have you checked the "lock status" with wholockme? Refer to chapter 8 of User Manual for details.

Everything works fine from Explorer.exe, From xplorer2 I can delete nothing!! I dont know what to do.

send to the bin. normal delete. I don't know about 2x -- I dont use. But I have Tried using TrackerV3, another file manager, and it is OK.
what is weird Is , I just tried again with xplorer2, and it worked now. So the problem is intermittent. grrr... Is there any way to see what specific shell extension has "latched on" to an object?

just use it from a command prompt and give part of the object name as parameter. For instance, part of the folder or filename you are trying to delete, but be specific enough, otherwise you'll get too much info about things you're not interested in. You'll get information about which process is getting a hold of that object.
Typing 'handle' without parameters will get you all handle info currently available.
Dumb questions are the ones that are never asked
