Feature Request: Copy Active Path to Clipboard

Post by dpupello »

Could you add a hotkey to Copy Active Path to Clipboard?

I know about Alt-C and Control-P, but I'm looking for a keystroke that would copy the active tab's Path -- without any file being highlighted (or even if a file *was* highlighted).

Just a quick key to copy the path.

Here's my purpose (which others may or may not find relevent to their activities).

I am often switching between file downloads in Internet Explorer, and X2.  So in X2 when I create a new folder or navigate to one, I'd like to be able to quickly copy its path so I can flip back to IE and paste the path in the File | Save dialog.

Yes -- "quit your bitching!" haha -- this can be done with a couple extra keystrokes already.  Shift-Tab to the address bar, Control-C.

Of course, it would also be nice to have "Copy Active Path to Clipboard" plus a \.   :)   That way I wouldn't have to type in the trailing backslash either. ;)

Anyway, I can accomplish all this with an external program such as an Automate by Unisyn, but I don't have access to Automate on all my machines.

Cheers!

ClipPath

Post by alphaseven »

Hello all,

I recently found a great tiny, free utility called "ClipPath" (30kb) that is called by right-clicking on a file/directory that copies the path to the clipboard with either a "\" or "/". It operates as a "context menu" item and works very nicely with xplorer2, 2xExplorer, Windows  Explorer, etc.

This is a must for web developers! Anyway, so not to step on anyone's toes, google for "ClipPath", or download from Download.com ( http://www.download.com/ClipPath/3000-2 ... l?tag=free).

Small and free, 5 stars.
