I havent been able to open X2 for about a week now. It just freezes totally as I try to open it. I can only think it might be to do with network tabs. I have set one pane up to tab about 10 folders on my main pc (the one with X2 on) and the second pane has about 10 tabs on a backup pc where I transfer the main pcs files to.
These are mainly mp3s and there are a huge amount of files and folders/sub folders on the backup pc. After starting X2 the backup pc is obviously working for ages but X2 just doesn't respond at all - I've even tried leaving it for half an hour and I still have a completely white screen where X2 should be.
Of course I can't even get into x2 to delete the tabs now so will have to uninstall and re-install, which is a bit of a bummer as I'll have to reset all the settings again.
By the way - I tried to download the latest version (3 - Jan 05)) but the link on the site is still version 2 (Nov 04) and the links in recent messages (trial version) are no longer working.

Hekp X2 has become unusable!

Thanks for uploading the new file and your reply.
In between my message and your reply I managed to correct the problem by shutting down the network and then running X2 which eventually loaded ok. I was then able to remove the tabs to the network folders and when I restarted X2 it started up immediately so the network folders were obviously the problem.
However, this was an extremely useful function of your prog for me. It worked for a few days and I was able to switch folders in one click on a tab instead of having to wait for folders to load from the windows tree and this meant that moving files across to the server and to various folders was a synch.
Any ideas why it should have suddenly started to freeze? or if there is any way round it or if there is any proposal to make this function work better in future. I appreciate that populating the network folders is a cumbersome task but would definitely like to be able to use this feature.

the only rational explanation is that at least one of the network folders was unreachable. There is no workaround I can think of (sometimes pressing <ESC> may help abort a read)
the pro version has a feature to save tabs (folder groups) so you don't have to reopen them manually -- or have to keep tabs open when you quit the program
