xplorer2's tabs customizable?

Post by dping28 »

I just installed xplorer2 and love it so far but had a couple questions, with the tabs is it possible to have them show up at the top of the window instead at the bottom? also is it possible to add the ability to double click on the blank area next to a tab to create a new tab? Thats a feature I have come to love in Maxthon and Opera. Also a double click on a tab to close it would be nice. If not cool just thought I would throw them out there. Thanks!

1. see DPF_TABSONTOP in registry.txt

2. @ dclick between tabs >> interesting ... 'dunno if nikos would implement

3. Currently, to close tab use Ctrl+F4 or click the X at right side of tab bar.

if you are click-happy you can put the "new tab" button on any toolbar
i'll probably add the "d-click for new tab" feature for the next version

Hi nikos,

What about double clicking on a tab to close it?. I think lot of ppl have requested for this. Is there any reason you don't want to implement it or is it there in your huge list of future enhancements ?

Thanks

Yes, double clicking on a tab to close it and double clicking on the white space on the right side of the last tab to open a new one.

Closing all active tabs before opening another group of tabs should be implemented also ;-)

And maybe the registry option to put tabs on top could be implemented in te normal config window.
The option to show dual pane vertical or horizontal is in the normal config screen too, so why not the tab selection?

Then the best wil even get better . . .

I realize this is an old thread but I'm having various issues with a new install on a new PC. I have x2 version 5.5.0.1 x64 01/24/2024 on my old PC and installed the same on my new PC.

On the old PC I exported my settings and on the new PC I double-clicked on the exported file I saved. After restarting X2 I expected the window to look the same as I see on the old PC. However, there are numerous differences. What the heck did I do wrong?

One of the issues I have on the new PC is the darn tabs are at the bottom of the pane. On the old PC the tabs are at the top and this is where I want them.

I did find the "registry.txt" file in the "C:\Program Files\zabkat\xplorer2" folder. I opened the file and could not find DPF_TABSONTOP.

I also tried using "x2SettingsEditor.exe", if it has an entry for the setting I cannot find it. I did use the search function in the editor, but the search results are not highlighted, making it super difficult to find the results. Am I doing something wrong?

:(

Other issues that I have:
1) On the new PC near the top I see "File, Home, View, and Workbench", on the old PC I see "File, Go to, Bookmarks, Mark, Edit, View, Actions, Tools, Window, Customize, and help"

OPS I just resolved this. Under File there was an option to show normal menu (or something like that). WTF???? At least the menus now look the same.

Sounds like you ran x2 before you imported your settings from the old PC or x2 was running when you double-clicked the reg file.

You could try deleting the x2 settings in the registry ([HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc]) and then re-importing your old settings.
Make sure you have completely exited x2 and backup/export the current settings just to be on the safe side.

If you have multiple layouts make sure you are using the same one layout on both PCs.
