The registry option DPF_HILITEACTIVEHEADER described in installed file registry.txt in the xplorer2 program directory does exactly what ought to be done; it takes the Windows title bar color from your Windows color scheme and makes it background color for the path box for the active pane. You can tell at a glance from the color the active pane.
This is a really good option and shouldn't be hidden as a registry change. Indeed, it seems to me that it should be the install default.
Note that the number 64 mentioned for it is decimal. When you enter the sum of the options -- I used 9 for the default and entered 73 (=9 + 64) for the total in the registry key -- you have to click the decimal radio button in the registry modify dialog box.
