I am a brand new user of x2 Lite (and probably will upgrade to Pro if I find the Lite version truly useful), so the following question may be really dumb.
But in Windows 2000 sp4, is there any way (including a registry edit) to put x2 (either Lite or Pro) on the My Computer context menu, so that it would be available (along with the standard Windows Explorer) by right clicking the Desktop My Computer icon?
[The PowerDesk file manager that I used to use was listed on the My Computer context menu.]
Similarly, is there any way to put x2 as an item on every Windows Explorer file folder's context menu? Ideally, in the latter case, it would open at the same folder on which the standard Windows Explorer was at.
I suspect that the latter idea might create crash generating circularity, since apparently in x2, each file folder's context menu is the same as each standard Windows Explorer's context menu. But I'll take the liberty of asking anyway.
Thanks for any help.

you have a few options; you can either add a new "x2open" verb for all folders (see Q15 from the old FAQ page or you can make x2 the default application for all folders. See registry.txt in the installation folder
having said all that i don't think it will work for "my computer" in particular, but regular filesystem folders are fine

I think that's what I had in mind. Thank you. Also, although I now use Win2k on my main machine, I've got a backup W98se computer that has PowerDesk installed. I'll look through there and see if I can figure out how PowerDesk got itself on to the My Computer context menu.
Thanks for the help.

See the first post here. Context Edit is the easiest way, trust me. Here's just a suggested solution, you may do something a little different. Download, open it up, navigate to the "Folder" entry hit "New". It will ask for an internal name- use "x2open" if you wish, it really makes not a whole lot of difference for what we're doing. Give it a name like "Explore with X2" (or something even more brilliant) and use the "browse" button to enter your path to X2 so the syntax goes in correctly. That will get you the context menu entry to open up X2. If you want it to open your drives and all, read on. Open X2 and go Tools->Options and click off "Save program state on exit" (so it'll always go to the same "My Computer" view), Then click "My Computer" in the tree view for both panes (or one, or none, just a suggestion) and click Actions->Save settings now. Now, shut off all running X2's and hit that My Computer icon. Voila? Let us know.

Hpp3:
At the moment I'm bogged down in setting up a new computer (on which X2 will go), so I need to finish that first before I do any major experimenting.
But I much appreciate your and other responses here, and I'll try to apply them as soon as I get some other issues (a network card upgrade that makes the laptop's poiinting stick skip) sorted out.
Thank you again.

Xplorer2 on My Computer
Eyals:
Please excuse my tardy reply, but setting up the new computer has taken up so much time that I haven't checked this email account in several weeks.
Fortunately, all the setup issues are now solved. Next step is to finish implementing them.
Be all that as it may be, thank you VERY much for your Xplorer2 customizations. I've downloaded them this evening, and will be installing them as soon as I can.
Thanks again.
