How to copy selected files with their directory structure ?

Post by Onkel Otto »

Hi @ all :-)

Maybe I have  missed some point, but I can not figure out how to copy several selected files together with their (complete or partial) directory structure
(like in old Xtree Gold via "alt+copy" of taged files in branch view).

An example:

I like to copy (from scrap)

File #1:  c:\Test_1\file1.txt   -and-
File #2:  c:\Test_2\file2.txt

to

c:\NewTest\Test_1\file1.txt
c:\NewTest\Test_2\file2.txt

Can xplorer2 do this easily ?

Best greetings in many thanks in advance
Klaus

sure
you select and copy the files in the scrap window
then switch to a regular window, create your "NewTest" folder and in there pick Edit | Paste special | Structured scrap clips

this is explained in the manual

Hi Nikos,

thanks for your very fast reply !

Yes I haven't read the manual carefully ;-) ...

I checked the procedure and it works fine.

In the monent the whole way how to do the job
seems a little uncomfortable for me, but this is
probably because I am tooooo much used to work
with Xtree (or better zTreeWin) which :
- copies tagged files (with rename option)
and
- creates a non existing parent directory for me
and
- asks me if I like to have full or partial branches
... just by pressing two keys (ALT+C).

Best greetings
Klaus
