Suggestions and annoyances

Post by ChopperCharles »

I love xplorer2, and I almost never use regular exporer. However, there are times when it is necessary due to one issue. When I have to open multiple files at once, I must use regular explorer. This is because when I select multiple files in xplorer2 and then press ENTER, only one file loads. I do a lot of text file editing, and I'll open 10 or 20 similar files, edit them one by one (usually just pasting in a template and editing a few sentences), and then save and close. I can't do this in xplorer2, because if I select 20 files and press ENTER, only one file opens.

Also, it'd be really nice if F5 refreshed and F3 searched. These are pretty standard Windows buttons. I can live with crtl-f, but F5 REALLY needs to be "refresh". I hit it constantly.

Finally, it'd be really nice if I could attach the directory structure view in the left pane to one of the two folder panes on the right. ie: Whatever directory I switch to in the folder pane the directory pane automatically opens it - like Windows Explorer does. The option to turn this on and off, and attach it to either pane, would be great.

Finally, last thing. When I'm in several directories deep, the title bars of each pane are shortened. It'd be nice if they'd display the entire extended path in a tooltip when I hovered over with the mouse.

Anyhow, I love the software, keep up the good work! :)

Charles.

This has been taken care of in the latest alpha version (1.2.0.5). Muliple selections will open mulitple files.

This can be set in the options.

i wonder why? you are having refresh problems? i'd like to know if so
display the entire extended path in a tooltip
that could be done but you can already check the full path if you shift+right-click
