The "proper" Control Panel does have some extra functionality not obtainable when CP is opened inside X2 by the go to> special folders. Is it possible to make a custom bookmark in x2 that will open the Windows Control Panel in my XP pro system? The address appears to be
%windir%\System32\control.exe panel
but putting this in the address bar of x2 or substituting the actual path to %windir% does not bring up the Windows CP. Also if I make a desktop shortcut to one of the CP folders the shortcut does not open the CP but another instance of X2 (I cannot figure what the addresses of these CP folders are , though the shortcuts to individual cpl applets work OK.) I know all this is on the start menu but I got rid of Control Panel there as I did not like it and made my own links which work fine except for the problem of above of making a link to a CP folder.
Would be glad of any advice or comments
Can X2 access the official Windows Control Panel?

Hi Nikos yes you are right , control.exe works as a run command, I was trying to find it by typing its path as an address. But I cannot make a bookmark for it as a run command, can I , as I would if it was a file path? As for functionality of Control Panel displayed within x2, you lose the additional tasks sidebar, so in the network connections folder you do not have access to for example my network places. OK you can get it somewhere else but I thought it was worth querying if in this case it is not better if the windows CP itself loads when you go to > special folders > control panel. Or that user has option to enable this.
Thanks
