How to mass rename across multiple folders

I have thousands of images divided into hundreds of folders.

Mass rename only seems to work on one folder at a time or am I missing something?

btw, I don't want to put all the files into one folder (at this stage) as I want to use the existing parent folder name (eg 2004 Easter Holiday, John 1st Birthday...) as part of the new name (along with the existing file name and Date Picture Taken...ie: $C ${Date Picture Taken} $B.$E

Have you tried using scrap panes?

freddofrog, Scrap panes there in the PRO version only.

You can try THE Rename: it allows recursive naming, with folder names (in fact, any part of the path) as tokens.

I finally managed to do it in the pro version with the scrap panes but will try the other option also.
