I've used 2xExplorer for a long time and love it. Only recently with the latest version I've wanted to synchronise folders and files with another computer and although I've made some cautious experiments I'd really like a bit more info about how the synchronise options work.

you'll find extensive info in 2xExplorer.rtf in the folder synchronization section near the middle of the file

basically, if you press F9 then file dates are compared for files with same names. The most recent of the 2 is recommended as a source to overwrite the older

contents synchronization [Alt+F9] on the other hand disregards dates and just compares the contents as binary. This will only tell you if the files are different or not, but obviously it can't tell which one is the most up to date
