Free space reported wrongly in folder data window?

Hi.
The 'Folder Data Window' doesn't seems to be reporting the free  
space on the drive incorrectly. -In the normal 2x pane the free
space is reported correctly in the status bar.
-right at the top above the information area where it goes,
" Folder Statistics (Disk free space:.......)"
e.g. 1.9GB free space and 6.92GB free in the status bar.

I don't know whether I`m getting things correctly.

I'm using Win98 and a 40GB hard drive.
2xExpl. Version  -R7xx "Cartmann" Product Build: 1.3.1.12
