my vista troubles are over

I recently posted problems associated with xplorer and vista ie links not being created in sendto, preview not displaying images correctly etc. Coincidently I also had problems with vista not applying automatic updates correctly, not creating user accounts correctly, calendar crashing etc.
I thought it worth posting that my vista username had an ampersand (&) in it (what made me do it, I don't know!) and vista therefore created a profile folder with an ampersand in it. This I realised could have consequences for applications that 'misinterpreted' the ampersand. Anyway I wiped vista off the PC and did a fresh install and all my problems disappeared!! xplorer now does everything I expect of it.
So beware, vista sometimes lets you do things that are not good for it or the applications that run on it!!
