After clicking Trash, dialog box not focused.

Post by thericochet »

Hi. First I want to say thanks for the great piece of software. I've been using it for 3 years or so now.

I recently installed Xplorer2 Lite on my new Vista machine and I noticed that when I click on the Trash icon to delete a file permanently, the confirm dialog box that comes up is not focused and needs to be clicked on before allowing keyboard interaction. I was very much used to being able to just hit Enter right away on my old XP machine after clicking on Trash and this extra step is somewhat of an annoyance.

I realize it's not a huge deal, but I was wondering if there's anything I can do to make sure the confirm delete dialog box comes up focused? The regular Delete dialog box after hitting the delete key on a file comes up focused, so that's not a problem, just the Trash function that I customized onto my toolbar.

I looked through the Options menu and couldn't find anything related to this. I'm wondering if it's an OS quirk.

Thanks a ton!  :D

are you talking about the Yes/No confirmation dialog before binning a file? I just checked and on my vista ultimate it comes up normally focused!

Yeah that's the one. It's only when I click the Trash icon (permanent delete) on the toolbar though, not when regularly deleting to the recycling bin. When I do a regular delete, the Yes/No dialog comes up focused normally so I can hit Enter right away. But I usually don't like things in my recycling bin.

I'm using Home Premium, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I DID use TweakVI when I first got the computer a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't like the effects so I restored/undid all the changes I made. I suppose it could be a residual effect from that?

Thanks very much Nikos. And you're right about shift-delete, that works!
