MOVE operation does not create destination folders

Post by CHS »

I am evaluating EXPLORER2 (freeware vesion).

In EDIT / MOVE TO / MOVE TO DESTINATION FOLDER ... I can not
figure out how to create the destination folder.  I have only
been able to get the function to work if the destination
folders already exist.  [In my experiment I am MOVING file sets
from [T] to , the 2nd and 3rd partitions respectively of one
of several USB external hard drives on the system .]

If the ability to create a destination folder is disabled
in the freeware version, I question your judgment with regard
to which functions to restrict, as this is a basic function.
This alone will not stop me from buying the Pro version,
however.

If the function is simply not provided by your software, in
either version, then this definitely will force me to look
elsewhere for Explorer replacement software.

If the function exists but the user (me) is too stupid to
figure it out, then a little help would be appreciated.

Also, when MOVING files, the folders (only) are displayed.
(FROM & TO).  Is there any way to display the full path?  Is
this something that can be reconfigured in the Windows API
(the dialog box) that you are using?

Other than this, so far I am really impressed with your
program.  But the MOVE function is absolutely indispensible.

Thanks,

Hi CHS,

Welcome to the board! :)

In the Move to destination folder dialogbox, tick the Here choice and click on the ellipsis [...] button to the right.
This brings up a Browse For Folder dialogbox which includes a button for Make New Folder.
(same goes for the "Copy" dialog.)

@ Full path... -
sadly, only drive and folder are shown at present in those dialog box entries. As far as reconfiguring it, that would be up to nikos to say.
