Lite portable install?

Post by kunkel321 »

Hi All,
I thought I read somewhere that X2 Lite can be installed portably on a flash drive.   Searched the forums yesterday though and find any discussions... Couldn't figure out how to do it.  Is it possible?   Thanks.  -steve

Portable "Lite" version for Standard Users.

Post by bellig_cat »

Just a quick licensing question.  I read the FAQ and checked out the page for standard users to purchase the Portable version of standard (vs Lite) and I'm not totally sure that I really need the portable standard version yet.  I'm not exactly enthralled with the upgrade system for that version either although I completely understand the rationale.  I bought standard over a year ago and I have been using it at work pc as well.  The FAQ is pretty clear on usage of the portable lite version when it states:
Beware not to run foul of the licencing terms & conditions of the free lite version: it is only for personal use, no business.

I was curious if you would be comfortable with Licensed "standard" users of the base product using the portable version of "Lite" in a business environment.  I generally prefer X2 (even the lite version) to explorer and it would be nice to be able to tote it around with me and see where/how it would come in handy.  As always thanks for X2!  Worth every penny!

Just a bump, in case it was missed.  Or should I interpret the lack of response as a pocket veto of some sort?  Thanks.
