If I set up the window as I like it with dual planes, it always goes back to one plane if I select a new folder, say on my desktop (I've integrated it with windows to use instead of explorer as per the manual instructions) - is this a free version limitation?
Also, whats the quickest way to get to bookmarks (eg. can a button be added to the menu bar?) and did I read skinning was possible? Many thanks.
Saving layout possible?

i suspect you have integrated xplorer2 with your folders using the recommended /T /1 command line options. Either remove them or open all folders from within xplorer2 like the rest of us
for bookmarks you're better off using the professional version see

you can also use the miniscrap pane for bookmarks (View menu)
for skinning see www.zabkat.com/x2skin.htm

I integrated it by following
By the rest of us, I guess you mean just loading X2 as normal?
Is there anyway, that if I turn on the dual plane option that the new window on the right appears in the same format as the one on the left (ie with the same columns etc)?
Many thanks for the other info!
So is it not possible to save my layout in dual plane view and be able to double click on any folder and have it open up like that? I've tried saving the layout but it appears not to work.As part of the installation process, x² adds "open with xplorer2" in the context menu for filesystem folders.
If you want to have this the default action (so that folders always open in x2 when you click on them) then make sure this is the default verb, either using Folder Options ("file folder" type)
