Registry Cleaner Wipes out settings

Post by jgerd42 »

I use a registry cleaner now and then to keep it free from gunk. I used to use RegCure, and now use Registry Booster2. No matter, they both wipe out my Xplorer2 settings stored in the registry. I use multiple tabs, to quickly move to various folders and drives, and each time I run the cleaner, I then have to go and re-do everything.

I know there's the option to export settings, which creates a *.reg file. Is there a way of restoring the settings? I read the manual, and it states: "In case want to switch over from “standard” x2, you can copy all your
settings to the portable version;". Which is not what I want to do. :?

Once I clicked on the *.reg file hoping it would restore those settings to the registry, but it didn't.  :(

Any help would be appreciated. Great product by the way!

if you run the REG file while x2 isn't running it should work

Neither CCleaner nor jv16 Power Tools seems to be messing with xplorer2 Pro.
