Today I had my HD nearly full, and had to check the status, to avert a disaster. During these checks, I discovered that 2x shows two different readings of free disk space, depending on the method:

Method-1: Left-click on D: (in the tree) and read the status line (Right-hand bottom box)
Method-2: right-click in the file tree on D:, and check properties.

The difference varied between 0.2 MB and 1 MB.

Checked Windows Explorer, and found no difference there.

the free space reported by Ctrl+D folder data command is flawed and should't be relied upon; the one on 2x's status bar is good though

however, in the near future Ctrl+D will be sorted out -- 2xExplorer update coming up soon  :)
