A fantastic piece of software!

Post by Morning Star »

Now that column sorting is in in 0.35, x2 has every major feature I have hoped for. Not only that, but it is intuitive, powerful, and still manages to have a crisp, clean and a attractive interface.

For any software, let alone free software, I am very impressed and grateful. So, I suggest we each dig deep and donate some small amount of money to Nikos, in return for his efforts and responsiveness to our wishes.

I'll start; I've got a spare $20...

x2 0.35

I have to agree that x2 is looking like a superb piece of software.

With 0.35 available I can feel 2x slipping away, already.

Certainly does. :)

Now all we need is a Options dialog box, and we are set...
(Normal end users can't be expected to registry hack, now can they ;))

Column Sorting

Post by dda »

With regard to column sorting......

"Name" works as I would expect (hope).

"Size" does too, but I wonder if there can be an option (later) to keep all the folders at the TOP of the list?

In the case of "Modified", I love the way the files and folders mix, but I wonder if here, also, there could be a switch to "keep folders at the top".

would you be after a flag that separates folders for all kinds of sort columns?

Folder Separation

Post by dda »

Yes, I think for all sort columns.

I'm not sure about this. I can see that:

1: I bring expectations to x2
2: x2 functionality changes my expectations

Up to now, I have liked the idea of being able to "puch all the subdirectories up to the top" within a given folder.
