Ctrl-F find files.
I have been using the 2x Ctrl-F "find files" today, and thinking how attractive and useful it is.
I know that everything in 2x will eventually get into x2, but I'm wondering if this feature is on the "soonish" list.
I think if the old Ctrl-F function was in x2, I would cease to use 2x at this stage.

(0.0.0.39 is working well. I use it heaps every day in a variety of ways. No problems).

If I go to an explorer window, and press the search button, everything works fine. However, I seem to have discovered over the past 2 days, that if i go right-click search, double click on a search file, or in any other way try to directly open a search window, it fails. I know this isn't your problem, but any ideas you might have would be nice
this has always been the case for me on both XP and 2003.
Now running 0.0.0.41

Did you switch to alternate Windows Shell? To this point we (alt. shell devs) have had a hard time implementing DDE (Microsoft is not overly generous in detailing specific Windows internals). If you have, you might want to try switching back to having Explorer as your shell to see if it works.
I myself am not running explorer, so CTRL-F doesn't work for me either....

Try these sites. they hold a lot of Windows type information, it's worth a try.
I managed to fix a similar problem where an un-install screwed my system to such an extent that I could't open the recycle bin from the dekstop, do a search, open my computer from the desktop. and various other problems. A two line command fixed all of this.
