Re: v6 released

O.K. Just the way you worded it looked like with the crumbs bar enabled things couldn't be moved.

you can either disable the new crumbs bar ...
Are you saying that with the "crummy" bar enabled you can't position the filter box to the right?

Re: v6 released

YES - on screen keyboard.

It's easier, but obviously much slower, to use the mouse and the on screen keyboard if my polymyalgia rheumatica is bad. Because the polymyalgia rheumatica effects my hands I end up with "claw hand" and typing is difficult, and painful.

Re: v6 released

Do you have an "enter" key on your mouse? I don't. The whole point of using the mouse is to use the mouse, NOT the keyboard. If I use the keyboard, then I use the keyboard. If I use the mouse, then I use the mouse. We're wasting enough time on this, the more I look at V6, the more I hate it.

Re: v6 released

Hmmmm!! It appears to change the ini file on the USB drive. If I have x2settings.ini open in a text editor, run x², change something, close x², the ini file is changed. Start x² again and the changes I made have been remembered. Does that mean it's changing the registry EVEN THOUGH IT'S ON A USB DRI...

Re: v6 released

What a mess!!! I duplicated the USB directory - xplorer2_ult 6.0.0.0. (and it's contents), then cleared the directory. I then copied ALL the V5 files, from the hard drive, to the USB drive (xplorer2_ult 6.0.0.0). Then... copied the V6 files, from the duplicate directory, to xplorer2_ult 6.0.0.0., re...

Re: v6 released

Come off it Nikos, I was writing code before you were even a glint in your fathers eye!!! V6 is DEAD, as far as I'm concerned, unless you can come up with a better suggestion than to use the search. YES, I AM ANNOYED!!!! And the forum lost my post! There are only two options in the drop-down box - &...

Re: v6 released

I thought, just for a laugh, I'd set up V6 on a USB stick as portable. Not a good start - Instant problem! In V5 there is the option "General | save program state on exit to...file in installation folder". Where is that option in V6? Save settings on exit is either "No" or "...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.13 beta

So, it is down to the limitations of the high lever language. That's why I preferred to write in assembler, that way I had complete control of what the code did. The middle vertical toolbar is, as I've said, ergonomic in certain situations: select item in left pane, move right, select action in midd...

nikos wrote: 2024 May 24, 18:05 you can't have vertical toolbars...
Why are vertical toolbars such a NO-NO? Is it because of the language you have written x² in or is it just your personal hate of them?
I know of at least three file managers that have them (I use two of them on a regular basis).

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.13 beta

It looks like the end of the line for x² as far as I'm concerned. Too many "features" I don't like / won't use. Other file managers do what I want, the way I want.
I wish you well Nikos.

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.13 beta

I assume that you are not going to get rid of the "simple version" / "more properties" hardly visible micro message that responds to a mouse click within half a mile of it? It should be in the options setting, not in the dialogue. Any bugs in V5 that you have fixed, if so, what w...
