Can't switch between Tabs
Hi together,
I am just trying the lite version. And i can't switch between
the tabs with the hotkey ctrl+alt+left or ctrl+alt+right.
Is this a bug? So my pane style is list and I have only two
tabs (and no other program is running)
Any ideas?
PS: The program is great - think i am going to buy the pro
version
Kind regards
danone

I too had the same experience. Note that if you press ALT only once, the File menu gets highlighted, but it is not at all noticeable. It does not pull down the menus till you press the arrow keys.
One more reason is that the program window loses focus because of some pop up dialog, etc. (The top bar of x2 window becomes gray instead of blue). In that case you have to click somewhere inside the window to reactivate it.

So once again me :)
I have tried to check my system if anything is eating the damn hotkey
combination ctrl+alt+left or ctrl+alt+right (with hotkey detective 2) and
also with a nice vbs script which I found in the forum.
So the result - there is anything eating the hotkey combination!
The workaround for now is that I have used resource hacker to change
the combination to ctrl+left and ctrl+right - this works. But I think this
is not a good solution. So there must be another way ????

I am making a wild guess here (I am not an expert in keyboards), but if you are using a Spanish/French/Russian/German keyboard (Called "International" in general) and if you are using the ALT key located on the right side of the spacebar, then this may happen...(I don't have such a keyboard, so this is just a guess.)
These keyboards have the right-side ALT key labeled as ALT-Gr, which is mapped for different function (to generate accents, such as umlaut, etc). The ALT-Gr key in these keyboards MAY NOT work in shortcuts like the ALT key does.
So try the ALT key located on the left side, and let us know...

Hmm sounds interesting - but I am using the left Alt key. I think the
best solution would be to find the application who eats the shortkey.
So I think i need a tool to detect that application ??
I thought if an application is active (like 2xexplorer) how can another
application eat that hotkey. I think windows itself can't be the culprit
because the tool hotkey detective didn't find any hotkey in use.

Process Explorer (from systernals) is an excellent utility that shows all running programs, some of which may not show on task bar or system tray.
You can kill programs one by one and see if the last closed program was eating the shortcut.
The catch is that you have to know which program is essential and which is not; otherwise you may end up making the system unstable (or worse, compromise its security).
