I agree with Bender. I have installed a few 64-bit applications with shell extensions that I really wish I had in X2. I have to sometimes launch an instance of Explorer just to do things that I should be able to do with X2...
Nikos, please consider putting a 64-bit build high on your todo list!
Thanks

Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side...

Ok ... first: Where the heck are all you 64bit users?
Second: Power Archiver Shell extensions are not working because they are using the 64-bit extensions within their 32bit application somehow ... so they fixed it the other way round. However in this case thats kinda annoying.
Third: I admit it ... i got weak. Seing the lack of supportive 64bit users (to you guys who posted: i mean larger numbers of users
) so ... uhmmm ... i did it and registered it anyway.

Bender: it's possible to have 32-bit app but 64-bit shell extension, since the shell extension is an external DLL... This (64-bit) DLL has no trouble executing the (32-bit) main application.
Using 64-bit shell extensions in a 32-bit application, though? Well, nothing is impossible, but my guesstimate is that it would be some pretty kludgy hacking

Add my name to the x64 users. I specifically purchased a license to replace Explorer.exe after evaluating it under Vista x86 (in VMware) prior to deploying Vista x64 to my desktop... I have way too many shell extensions that I rely on to work, which currently don't. I've had to roll back to XP 32-bit for the time being.

Well, I now join the ranks of the 64bit OS users - I purchased a new C2Q 6600 machine with 4 GB RAM and Vista Home Premium 64bit (which I upgraded immediately to Vista Ultimate 64bit - the Anytime Upgrade that I bought back in March '07 is proving quite useful....) and I am about to install X2-pro (and then my portable version on my USB drive) and am surely going to miss the shell extensions in X2....

64 bit user
Here is one more user! Vista Ultimate 64 bit, using 6GB RAM on Asus P5B and Intel Core 2 Duo E6600. Fast and problem-free (so far...).
And for you who miss context menus, look at Fast Explorer http://thesoftpro.tripod.com/downloads/fe/index.htm, as I mentioned in another post http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?p=37566#37566 in this forum. It solved my problems![/url]

to all you 64 bit advocates (with programming experience):
I remember I've read somewhere that programs built with the old ATL v3 (MSVC6) will not run in 64 bit windows because the old ATL thunking code will cause DEP errors. Or is it only for explorer plugins? If i need to port to the new ATL/WTL just to build a 64 bit version, I think this is a dead horse from the start
