Issues: Object Icons + Custom Toolbars

Post by Hellraiser »

a) How much would performance increase if no (exe, other) icons were read from files contained in the listed folder ? Maybe you just could add a color indicator for folders and files, whereas the user can specifiy special colors for file extension.

b) Now there are toolbars which have fixed buttons in the bar. Please give the user the ability to let him choose which function buttons he wants to place in toolbars.

for (a), yes there's a significant performance increase controlled by bUsePlainIcons (see registry.txt), but the listings end up looking a bit too plain

for (b) unfortunately there's not going to be any more development put into the program, so that's out

yeah it's quite more difficult to distinguish certain files out of a whole mixed set but as far as performance is concered I am really impressed of its mega boost, could not be better!!

xplorer2 has an intermediate option too, which offers good performance with decent images for most file types. But then again in x2 all icons are retrieved in the background so speed isn't an issue at all!

Give me a break.Use what it offers now. What you suggests doesn't make much sence. What performance do you mean ?

Try to think instead of doing not so and being ignorant. Yeah you are right, you proved that you have not a slight sence of tolerance for other people's preferences.
